| Abstract: | Simple equipment is described for exploiting the normal Zeeman splitting of atomic absorption lines in external alternating magnetic fields of various geometry which is suitable for flameless and flame techniques. High-level continuous or background absorption can be eliminated in this way. This is demonstrated for the determination of traces of copper and molybdenum with a carbon rod (Varian CRA 90). |
