Structure and phase composition of an Al-Mg-Li-Zr alloy under high-rate superplasticity conditions

Abstract:Uniaxial-tensile tests are performed on samples of a commercial aluminum-lithium alloy subjected to equal-channel angular extrusion. It is found that the material under study has a highly fine-grain structure and exhibits superplasticity under tension. The microstructure of the samples is studied during their plastic deformation.
