Abstract: | The increase of the pressure over a liquid results in an increase of its viscosity, which makes possible the study of the mechanism of diffusion-controlled, or not, fluorescence quenching processes. This technique has been applied to the quenching of the fluorescence of two substituted anthraquinones by N,N-dimethyl-p-toluidine in acetonitrile solution.
