| Abstract: | N-Substituted β-ketoamidines are obtained readily by condensing N-substituted thioureas 6 with α-halogenoketones 5 and extruding the sulfur from the resulting acylmethylisothiourea 7 with triphenylphosphine (sulfide contraction). |
