| Abstract: | Metastable transfer emission spectroscopy (MTES) has been used for the determination of trace mercury. The active nitrogen is produced in a micromave discharge surf-atron and mixed with the electrothermally produced atomic vapor of mercury in a flow cell. Then mercury is excited during metastable energy transfer emission process of the active nitrogen. Mercury is determined at 253. 7nm and the detection limit is 0.02ng. The method has been employed to analyse practical samples. |
