Abstract:Gbit/s OTDM transmission over 50 km true wave fiber with dispersion compensation was realized for the first time in China. The power penalty is smaller than 8 dB. The following technology problems were solved: the generation and the compression of ultra short optical pulse; low bits to high bits multiplexer; high bits to low bits demulitplexer; the clock extraction from high speed system, dispersion compensation.
