Abstract: | The measured rates for CO2 dissociation on Rh(111) are reported for a reaction mixture at a total pressure of 100 Torr and a CO2 partial pressure of 1 Torr. The activation energy associated with the conversion of CO2 to CO is . The reaction probabilities for CO2 dissociation range from 10?5 at 750 K to 10?8 at 444 K. The probability of CO2 dissociation on Rh(111) is shown to be on the order of 10?11 at 300 K rather than the previously reported value near 10?1. |
