Untersuchungen zu einer neuen Methode der Gasphasenzüchtung von α-Al2O3-Whiskern und deren Realstruktur

The paper deals with the effect of the fundamental technological parameters on the mass increment of α-Al₂O₃ sapphire whiskers grown in a high-temperature resistance furnace by hydrogen reduction. Results of X-ray topographical studies of the defect structure of needle- and plate-like whiskers are presented. The directions of growth and the tensile strength of the grown whiskers are determined.
