Abstract: | Several ultrasonic techniques for the detection of gas bubbles in blood are described.A system of a bubble chamber attached to circulating liquid is shown to detect small and large bubbles. Bubbles were most noticeable when the ultrasonic signal was at the 1st or 3rd harmonic of the receiver crystal (43 and 130kHz). |
