Antisymmetric waves in an elastic layer with free surfaces

Abstract:The dispersion of antisymmetric waves in a fluid-saturated porous elastic layer with free surfaces is studied. Attenuation effects are ignored. Cases with open-pore and closed-pore surface boundary conditions are considered. There are finite numbers of propagating waves and infinite numbers of waves with complex and imaginary wave numbers in the porous elastic layer. The dispersion is a function of the parameters of the porous elastic layer and of the type of wave symmetry. Institute of Hydromechanics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kiev.
