| Abstract: | The development, contents and classification of the foundation pit engineering are summarized. The application progress of excavating and protecting methods for foundation pits are summed up and the methods are classified afresh: excavating with and excavating without protecting, and passive and active protecting. Various application methods of protecting and excavating are introduced to provide reference for type-selection in designing foundation pits. |
