Abstract: | A rapid, low-cost, and highly sensitive analytical method to detect glyphosate and its major metabolite, aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA), in water samples has been developed, involving a derivatization with a new labeling reagent, 4-methoxybenzenesulfonyl fluoride, followed by reverse phase liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection. The limits of detection of both of glyphosate and AMPA in real water samples are 0.1 μg L?1 with simple pre-concentration. This method has proven to be sensitive and reliable for determination of glyphosate and AMPA in water samples. |
