| Abstract: | We perform a multiple scales analysis on the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation in the Hamiltonian form together with the Hamiltonian function. We derive, as amplitude equations, Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) flow equations in the bi-Hamiltonian form with the corresponding Hamiltonian functions. |
