Electrochemical Detectors Used for High Performance Capillary Electrophoresis

In this paper,high senstive electrochemical detectors(ED)for high performance capillary electrophoresis(HPCE) have been developed,mainly as a result of the development of the interface to minimize the effects caused by the high electric field present in the separation capillary,Techniques which exploit the universal method are described,and various designs and applications of amperometric detectors for high sensitivity detection are presented.The use of indirect electrochemical detection to permit detection of nonelectroactive species by amperometric measurements is also described.Such advances provide a wide scope for further developments in HPCE with ED.
