Hypersurfaces of prescribed mean curvature in central projection-I

We consider the Dirichlet-problem associated with H-surfaces in central projection. By using a variational approach in the space of functions of bounded variation, and in connection with the theory of minimal sets, we obtain very general existence and regularity results provided the mean curvature H fulfils a certain monotony condition.
