| Abstract: | A formal synthesis of enantiomerically pure (−)-swainsonine was successfully achieved using intramolecular cyclization of the amino alcohol 4 which was derived from a readily available 1-(R)-α-methylbenzylaziridine-2-carboxylic acid (−)-menthol ester 6. |
