| Abstract: | The karyotype of the myeloeyte of Rana japonica japonica found in Nanjing is analysed, The diploid number 2n equeals 26, which comprise graded sizes and are divided into two groups: Group A(1-5) and Group B(6-13). The chromosomes are classified as metacentric(Nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 11, 13), submetacentric (Nos. 3, 7, 10, 12) and subtelocentric (Nos, 9) ones, There are secondary constritions in the short arms of Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, and in the long arms of Nos. 6, 7, 9, There is no visible evidence of sex chromosome dimorphism.Meanwhile, the nucleus pattern of the Rana japonica japonica found in Nanjing is compared with that of the various populations which have been reported home and abroad. Their corresponding chromosomes relative length and location of the secondary constrictions are also different. |
