Abstract: | We analyse in a simple and qualitative way how the properties of electromagnetic field jointly with hyperfine interaction affect the possible coherences between Zeeman sublevels of an atomic structure. We show that in the limit of a strong and/or broadband light hyperfine structure plays no role in creation of the Zeeman coherences. |
