Homolytic alkylation of succinic anhydride with 1-alkenes

Conclusions The reaction of succinic anhydride with C₈−C₁₈-alkenes, initiated by tert-butyl peroxide, leads to the formation of n-alkylsuccinic anhydrides, the yield of which under the optimum conditions is 50–75%.
