| Abstract: | A new class of linear heteroacenes, anthra[2,3-c:6,7-c']dithiophenes, containing non-classical (non-Kekulé) thiophene in a 22-electron π-conjugated system have been prepared by electrochemical reduction. The electronic properties have been studied by DFT calculations and spectroelectrochemistry, supporting the formation of a triplet electronic structure. |
