Abstract:
Trifluoronitrosomethane reacts with bis(trifluoromethyl)phosphine to give (CF3)2P(O)N(OH)CF3 and a small amount of (CF3)2NOH. On the other hand, the reactions with tris(trifluoromethyl)phosphine and bis(trifluoromethyl)chlorophosphine afford (CF3)2NOP(O)CF3N(CF3)2 and (CF3)2NP(O)(CF3)Cl respectively. Isomerisation of may be involved as found for the isomerisation of the phosphine, (CF3)2NOP(CF3)2, to the phosphoryl compound, (CF3)2NP(O)(CF3)2. Mechanisms for the above reactions are discussed.
