Abstract:In Ref. 1] we observed X-ray emission was enhanced from the highly ionized atoms in laser produced plasmas of groove target in contrast with planar target. Here further investigation on laser absorption, and energy transport in laser produced plasmas of groove target is made and the results indicate that compared to planar target, more efficient laser absoption in groove target is responsible for the enhanced X-ray emission. This kind of target has the advantages of efficient laser plasma coupling and X-ray production.
