| Abstract: | Three squaraine 2]catenanes are synthesized and found to have bright, deep-red fluorescence and high chemical stability. The interlocked molecules undergo two large-amplitude dynamic processes, twisting of the squaraine macrocycle and skipping over the partner tetralactam. |
