Abstract:he kinetic behavior of benzene hydrogenation in gas phase over Ni-sepiolite catalyst was studied with a microreactor. The maximal reaction rate and the effect of H2/C6H6 molar ratio on kinetic behaviorwere revealed. A Langmuir-Hishelwood model was proposed, and benzene and hydrogen adsorption were considered as competitive in somesites. The kinetic equation was derived by supposing that the surface reaction between adsorbed hydrogen and adsorbed benzene is the controlstep of rate. The experimental data were treated by regression and theparameters in the equation were obtained. The reasonability of the kinetic model and the regression parameters were verified by deviationanalysis.The result showed that the kinetic model tallies fairly goodwith experimental data.
