Abstract: | The results of a numerical simulation of the unsteady flow in a variable-area channel with a pulsed-periodic supply of external thermal energy in local zones are presented. It is shown that in the case in which the amount of energy supplied is less than that required for thermal choking of the channel the original supersonic flow restructures itself in such a way that in the vicinity of the channel inlet a normal shock is formed and the energy is subsequently supplied a subsonic flow velocity. |
