A METHOD OF GRAVITY GRADIENT VECTOR FIELD IN INTERPRETATION OF GRAVITY ANOMALIES

A new method of gravity gradient vector field for quantitative determination of field source is described in this paperThe vertical and horizonted derivatives of one order in lower halfspace are computed from observed gravity anomaly data by means of the Fourier series summation technique. Based on the character of vector field in lower half-space, the spatial positions of field sources and their boundaries may be determined. The results of calculation on theoretical models indicate that this is a handy quantitative interpretive method that provides stable calculation results and directly figured spatial positions.
