Abstract:Seven 2 (4 substituted styryl)benzothiazoles were synthesized by reacting 2 methylbenzothiazole with aromatic aldehydes by microwave irradiation. Aqueous sodium hydroxide(50%) was used as catalyt and dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO)as solvent. The reaction could be completed in 2~ 5 min with yields of 30%~93%.
