| Abstract: | Starting from (S)-phenylalanine, an asymmetric synthesis of (S)-homocitric acid lactone was achieved using Seebach’s SRS methodology. An intermediate for the synthesis of the (S)-per-homocitric acid lactone has also been synthesized. |
