| Abstract: | The crystal structure of the Pt(NH3)5Cl](ReO4)3·2H2O salt is determined. Crystallographic data: a = 10.3476(2) Å, b = 12.8955(2) Å, c = 14.3536(3) Å, β = 105.241(10)°, V = 1847.94(6) Å3, space group P 21/n, Z = 4, d x = 3.962 g/cm3. Thermal decomposition of the compound is studied in a helium and hydrogen atmosphere. A two-phase product arises in the former case, in the latter a substitution Re0.75Pt0.25 solid solution with unit cell parameters: a = 2.767(2) Å, c = 4.441(3) Å, space group P63/mmc. |
