Evolution of wave perturbations in the upper ionosphere

We analyze the propagation of wave perturbations of plasma density in the outermost part of the ionospheric F-region. It is shown that growing oscillations can propagate downwards along the geomagnetic field lines. Such perturbations can form random inhomogeneities in the upper ionosphere.
