| Abstract: | The experimental basis of the equivalence principle is reviewed, and the implications for the gravitational interactions of elementary particles are studied within a special relativistic framework. The gravitational red shift is treated in detail and is used to show that antiparticles also obey the equivalence principle. The profound consequences of a violation of the equivalence principle are discussed. |
