| Abstract: | AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is a key regulator of energy balance at both the cellular and whole-body levels. The activation of AMPK has a considerable potential in the therapy of a number of metabolic disorders as well as cancer. The achievements in the development of small-molecule activators of AMPK are reviewed. |
