Abstract: | Detection of infrared radiation by nonlinear upconversion into the visible region is considered. The method enables one to operate the system at room temperature. It is shown that by employing a second-step upconversion in commonly available visible nonlinear crystals like KDP, KD,1 P and ADP it is possible to detect infrared signals with sensitive photocathodes. |
