| Abstract: | An interrelation between the surface energy of a material and the work of plastic deformation at a crack tip is analyzed. Theoretical relationships for the limiting stress intensity factors of a crack tip in a medium of aggressive gases and in vacuum are derived. The results of the calculations are compared with the experimental data. |
