Abstract: | Tetraphenylantimony hydrogenmalonate (I) has been prepared via a reaction between equimolar amounts of pentaphenylantimony and malonic acid with a yield of 91%. According to X-ray diffraction data, the antimony atom in a molecule of complex I has a distorted trigonal bipyramidal coordination to the oxygen and carbon atoms in axial positions. The Sb-Ceq, Sb-Cax, and Sb-O distances equal 2.105(3), 2.107(3), and 2.118(3) Å, 2.148(3) Å, and 2.406(4) Å, respectively, and the CaxSbOax angle is 176.91(11)°. |
