On extremal semi-Riemannian submanifolds |

| Abstract: | Variation of the volume of semi-Riemannian submanifolds is studied. A possible error in the second variational formula in [4] is corrected and it is shown that a semi-Riemannian submanifold cannot be extremal unless it is both definite and codefinite. |
