Abstract: | ![]() The results of a numerical solution of the problem of the unsteady convective motion generated in a fluid layer by the formation at the initial instant of a heated zone in the form of a thin cylindrical column, extending from the surface into the interior of the fluid, are presented. The problem is formulated with allowance for both thermocapillary and thermogravitational convection.
