Photoluminescence at room temperature in Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 ceramics

Abstract:We present in this paper the experimental results of photoluminescence spectra of Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 ceramics. An emission band centered at about 920 nm has been observed at room temperature. When we change the amount of oxygen vacancies in these samples by thermal treatment, these samples show an enhancement of luminescence. Our experimental results indicate that the origin of the photoluminescence is related to the oxygen vacancies in these samples.
