Condensation of o-diamino derivatives of anthraquinone and naphthoquinone with mesityl oxide

Anthraquinone- and naphthoquinonediazepines are formed by the reaction of 1,2- and 2,3-diamino-9,10-anthraquinones and 2,3-diamino-1,4-naphthoquinones with mesityl oxide.
