Liquid-state transitions (T>T g) of poly(vinyl alcohol)

Abstract:The two liquid state transitions,Tll andTll, of non-crystalline, uncrosslinked poly(vinyl alcohol) were determined by differential scanning calorimetry.Tll increased as the molecular weightMn increased, whileTprimell remained almost constant. Crosslinking and crystallinity lead to disappearance of the transitionTll. The transitionTll was linked to mobility of whole chains, whereasTprimell was characteristic of segmental mobility.
