Abstract:The Euler-Euler multiphase flow model combined with the RNG k-ε turbulence model is used numerically to simulate the simplified plug-flow aeration tank. The governing equations were discretized by the finite volume method(FVM), and solved by the Pressure-Implicit with Splitting of Operators(PISO) algorithm. By the simulation, the air volume fraction, the gas-liquid two-phase flow velocity, and the distribution of the turbulent kinetic energy on the characteristic sections of the aeration tank are obtained under different aeration speeds, according to which the best range of the aeration speed, 6.25 m/s~7.813 m/s, is obtained, which provides a reference for the reasonable running of an aeration tank.
