Abstract: | The problem of reconstructing a coherent monochromatic field from its energy characteristics is considered. A comparative analysis is made of one- and two-dimensional phase problems. It is shown that a substantial role is played in the two-dimensional case by the vortical properties of the optical-energy flux vector. The results of computer and physical experiments are reported.Optics and Spectroscopy Division, Lebedev Physics Institute.
