Kinetics of electrochemical nucleation and growth

Abstract:A united scheme for the kinetics of electrochemical nucleation and the growth of a new phase is presented. The peculiarities of ion-transfer kinetics during electrochemical phase formation are analysed. The influence of the exchange current density at the electrolyte/cluster of the new phase interface on the nucleation rate, the nucleation induction time and the growth rate is reported.
