Synthesis and polymerization of N-(ethylene)-phthalimidyl acrylate

N-(Ethylene)phthalimidyl acrylate was synthesized starting from phthalimide or phthalic anhydride using two different routes. Free radical or anionic polymerization of the ester resulted in low-molecular-weight polymers.
