How to avoid water contamination in the thermodesorption cryofocusing technique. Application to ethane analysis in human breath by means of an ion trap detector (ITD)

The purpose of this study was to modify an automatic pre-concentration system to avoid water contamination and to apply this technique to ethane analysis in breath. The ion trap detector was very useful in monitoring the whole analytical procedure.
