The effect of grafting on the dyeability and properties of some modified celluloses

Summary Poly(acrylonitrile) and poly(methyl methacrylate) were grafted onto standard and chemically modified celluloses under various conditions using Ceric IV ion as a catalyst. Purified Chlorazol Sky Blue FF (C. I. Direct Blue 1) was used in dyeing the standard and modified cellulosic fabrics. Chemically modified celluloses were obtained by oxidation and cross-linking with various agents using standard procedures. Generally, grafting lowered the dye affinity, of standard and cross-linked celluloses.With 2 tables
