| Abstract: | [reaction: see text] Novel reactions of C60 with amino acid ester hydrochlorides and CS2 in the presence of Et3N affording fullerene derivatives 2 and 3 containing biologically active amino acids, thioamide, and thiourea units have been investigated. The thioamide groups in compounds 2 are sensitive to moisture and can easily be hydrolyzed to amide groups. |
