Diffusion-limited energy transfer from Dy3+ to Ho3+ in dimethyl sulfoxide

Abstract:Diffusion-limited energy transfer has been studied from Dy3+ to Ho3+ in dimethyl sulfoxide. The value of the diffusion constant has been calculated to be 4.65 × 10−14 cm2 sec−1 at 300 K. A temperature-dependent study of energy transfer has also been carried out. The probabilities of energy transferPda and transfer efficiencyηT have been calculated.
