| Abstract: | A quantum mechanical model of ionic chemisorption on small metal particles is presented. The model takes into account the size dependence of the metal electronic properties and treats ionic and covalent bond contributions in a selfconsistent fashion. The binding energy and the charge at the adatom are found to be strongly size dependent. |
