| Abstract: | Inelastic electron scattering has been used to study the isoscalar E2 giant resonances in 142Nd and 150Nd, which were found at excitation energies of 12.0 and 11.2 MeV with total widths of 2.8 and 5.0 MeV, respectively. The energy shift and the larger width in 150Nd indicate a splitting due to the deformation of 150Nd. |
